Get a grip on reality: sex drive between men and women is one of our most fundamental driving forces - that, and survival. Just like any other species, in fact. The fact an ad uses sex appeal of a woman to lure men into buying a product is simply a reflection of our human condition. The same with ads which use the sex appeal of men to lure women. I don't see anything wrong with it in principle. Geee... you find THIS ad offensive? Beyond bad taste? Brutal? Fuck me dead, what planet have you been living on lately, LOL? posted by: zekeblog (reply) post date: 12.30.04 (4:50 pm) You just don't want your illicit party broken up. You know heterocentrism give you cart blanche to use women as sex objects...and that it's exclusively a privilege of hetero males (not women), and is a living example of gender roles in a society based on war, violence, and terrorism. posted by: Big Pete (reply) post date: 01.01.05 (8:24 am) Once again, I couldn't agree with you more, Zeke. Ads like this are utterly repulsive and degrading to women. Just wait until Gloria Allred hears about this. Interestingly enough, moralists like Jerry Falwell, who obsess over anything even remotely perceived as homosexual (remember Tinky Winky?), are curiously silent when it comes to garbage like this. WhyNot's comments (which you rebuked beautifully, BTW) were almost as revolting as the ad. We can at least take solice in this: the heterocentrists are a dying breed. Though we may not live to see it, guys like WhyNot and the creator of that ad are going the way of the DoDo bird, and that fact will make me sleep just a little bit better tonight. ;) posted by: zekeblog (reply) post date: 01.01.05 (1:14 pm) Hooray for Gloria Allred: "The more I know about men the more I like dogs." (Or was that the actress?) And: do I remember Tinky Winky? I sure do; visit my web page at: http://www.gay-bible.org/flotsam/tinky.htm And...yes, the vulgarity of WhyNot sticks out like a syphilitic, er...thumb. |
